Test objects - what we test

Navigation systems, mobile phones, online shops, web applications, software, medical technical devices, consumer electronics: Expert and leisure users test interfaces of every kind in our usability laboratories.

In about 300 individual interviews per month, carefully recruited participants test the interfaces under the supervision of our experienced team of experts.

The following interfaces are tested on a regular basis:

  • Mobile applications and devices , such as mobile phones, PDAs and Smartphones,
  • Web sites and applications, such as online shops, portals and Online Banking,
  • Software, such as Office applications or Home Banking programmes,
  • Consumer Electronics , such as Settop-/MHP boxes, DVD players and recorders, iTV applications and devices,
  • Instructions for use and
  • Devices and applications from industrial manufacture.

A usability or user experience test of a DVD player, for example, could examine the following aspects:

  • Priorisation of sequences: Frequently used functions must be reached quickly.
  • Priorisation of keys: Important keys should be large and colourful to emphasise them.
  • Arrangement of keys: Important keys should be placed in a prominent position.
  • Menu structures: Test subjects should be able to perform simple tasks without any difficulties, and the designation of the individual menu items should be comprehensible.

We agree upon the aspects of the device to be examined with our customers in a detailed briefing before the testing phase begins.
